Raccoon Discovery Days
Oconomowoc area 8th-grade students who currently attend a public school outside of our district, a parochial or private school, or homeschool are invited to visit OHS to shadow current freshmen and experience a day in the life of a Raccoon.

December 10 & 17: Tech It Out/Check It Out Nights
Tech It Out/Check It Out Nights are a hands-on opportunity for current 8th-grade students to try out some of our career and technical education classes. While students explore, families can learn more about our tech courses before the course selection process begins.

Explore Career & Technical Education Classes
Learn more about classes like carpentry, agriscience, business and marketing, manufacturing, automotive, and aviation. Then try some hands-on learning in the OHS greenhouse, the building trades workshop, the automotive lab, the FabLab, and more.
While students explore our CTE courses, our OHS counselors will host an information session for families to learn more about the exciting opportunities at OHS and the course selection process.

Carpentry Tools/Tool Box
Do you like building things? Come join us in making a small toolbox tote. You will get a chance to work with some of the tools that we use in the construction industry while building your very own toolbox.
Greenhouse Exploration: Fish, Food, and Plants!
Explore the wonders of the OHS Greenhouse. Discover how fish, food, and plants all have a home in the greenhouse. You’ll even get your hands on your very own plant to take home!
Personal Brand - Make a Business Card and Play the Logo Game
Join us to play the LOGO GAME. Learn about company logos and make a business card with your own logo! Practice networking and give an “elevator pitch” about yourself. Completers will receive an official HSB (High School of Business)-ready certificate and an HSB pop-it.
Manufacturing
Have an interest in metalworking or welding? Come see firsthand the machines you will use to create a variety of fun projects in the manufacturing and advanced welding classes at OHS.
Automotive
Join us in the Auto Lab for a hands-on look at our Automotive Technology program! Students will learn how to safely and efficiently remove and reinstall a tire using pneumatic air tools, torque sticks, and a torque wrench. This live demonstration offers a taste of a real-world auto shop and gives students the chance to experience the thrill of working with professional automotive equipment.
Aviation
Want to try your hand and feet at flying an airplane? Come join us for a quick flight in a Cessna 172, and see how your skills on take-off are graded. This is a great way to see what our Aviation program is all about!

Current 8th-grade families and students are invited to the Virtual Pep Rally on Monday, January 12, 2026, from 7:00-7:45 p.m.
January 14, 2026: Open House & Course Exploration Night
The Raccoon Ready Open House and Course Exploration Night is an evening designed for parents and students to start their journey as Oconomowoc High School Raccoons. Join us in the OHS Gale Douglas Fieldhouse then explore our main campus while you learn about our classes, experiences, clubs, and athletics, from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
