Oconomowoc High School offers Advanced Placement® (AP®) courses endorsed by the College Board. These college-level courses cover the breadth of information, skills, and assignments found in the corresponding college course. They provide students a taste of what college is like, help them stand out on college applications, and may help them earn college credit, placement out of an introductory course, or both.
AP® Exams and Fees
Students who enroll in an AP® course are required to take the corresponding examination administered every May. The cost of the exam is automatically added to student fees.
Additional fees apply for canceled or unused exams or late exam registrations.
Students may choose to take an exam without enrolling in the corresponding course; those students must contact the AP Coordinator within the first two weeks of the school year to gain access to the AP® Classroom resource to prepare for their end of course exam and to have an exam ordered.
In early July, students access an online AP® Grade Report, and if the student requests it, a copy of the report is sent to a college or university. Each college or university decides which examination grades are acceptable for credit and/or advanced placement.

Deciding Which Courses to Take
Students are encouraged to pursue rigorous coursework, such as AP® courses, to prepare them for their chosen career pathway. Teachers can give you a good sense of which courses you might consider and how you might prepare. Counselors can advise you as to which of the AP® courses fit your academic and career plan.
For a description of each course and its corresponding exam, please visit the AP Courses and Exams webpage.
